Butuan – Traveling jewel of Mindanao

You can visit Butuan at any time of the year but better, you should visit here on some special occations: Kahimunan Festival – held on the 3rd Sunday of January, Balangay Festival - held in May, Butuan Charter Day - celebrated every August 1-2.

Tricycles are the main transport in the city. Jeeps and mini buses are used for nearby towns. In particular, the cost for Butuan trip is very cheap. For overnight stays and sightseeing around the city and nearby cities, 25 USD is too enough to spend on accommodation, transportation and meals.
